Welcome

The Legends TT is for Lunchtime Legends, Olympia and QUB triathletes only.

The TTs will generally take place on Tue nights at 18:45pm sharp from various locations - please see the calendar and maps at the bottom of this page. Course distances will vary from 10 to 25 miles. As well as individual events there will be 2UP and HANICAP races.

The main race series consists of 12 individual races with a competitor's best 6 results counting. There is one race series for the boys and one for the girls.

A 2UP race involves 2 people starting out together and completing the course as a team. Teams are drawn at random on the night.

In a HANICAP race people are given a time bonus which is subtracted from their final time. The amount of time given is based on previous results and riders will not be told their time bonus until after the race. This should give everyone a fair chance of winning!

The cost is £2 on the night or the special rate of £20 for the season. Note: the last night for paying the £20 is the 14th April after which only the £2 on the night will be accepted.

Time keeping duties will be shared each week between the competitors.

Competitors must sign a waiver form before being allowed to join in. All competitors are encouraged to purchase full or associate Triathlon Ireland (TI) membership.

Finally, remember this is for fun and hopefully everyone will improve their cycling at the same time.

Prize Giving Photos 2009

Thanks to everyone who turned up at Harlequins for the TT prize giving. There were about 30 people present although some may have opted for the speed-dating.

Everyone seemed to wolf down the chilli con carne and chicken stroganoff; just a shame the bar ran out of Guinness.

After food Desi announced prize winners for the League, 2UPs, Handicaps and Ballynahinch Hill climb. No-one publicly questioned the fact that members of the executive committee somehow came 1st, 2nd and 3rd...there is a results spreadsheet if anyone wants to launch an inquiry.

I am also most pleased that Emma got the opportunity to get a photo with sporting hero Desi. On that note there should be some photos uploaded here in the next day or two.

Keep in touch and see you all next year.
