Drumbo Hill Climb (3rd Sep 2013)

The TT season closed out with a double ascent of Drumbo Hill. Mike Millar carefully counted the riders off in 1 minute intervals which gave him plenty of time to check out everyones gear and cycling shoes in particular.

This is then an apt time to thank our sponsor McConvey Cycles. Having sponsorship adds to the overall TT series and allows us to have a prizegiving night at the end of season. Please try and visit their shop on Ormeau Avenue, mention the TT league and have a look around. For advice on anything feel free to ask for Mike.

Back to the TT and everyone returned to the second start in time. Almost! The exception was Miss Trainor who spent overlong enjoying the view of Belfast Hills.

Mark Kane impressed overall once more, moving off the line with a cleat click-in smoother than Mark Millar's legs.

Congratulations to Christen McMaster on a maiden TT victory. The Olympian triathlete pipped Miss Kerr from Invictus with two equally gauged precision climbs.

A big well done to all riders this season and thanks for sharing the Tue night duties. There have been plenty of great performances and lots of competition between the various groups that form throughout the field. Keep a look out for details on the upcoming prizegiving night.

TT Training 2019

2019 Rules

You must have a TI licence (a training licence is sufficient), be a member of a triathlon club and have working front AND rear lights on your bike. Cycling helmets are also mandatory. For events marked (ATH) - this means it is an athletes TT, meaning that no TT equipment should be used, such as TT bikes, TT bars, aero helmets etc. You can of course turn up with TT equipment, however, you should be prepared for general teasing and mickey taking as the penalty for doing so!

As we are riding on public roads, the rules of the roads apply. The committee have notified the PSNI of our plans for the season; being seen and riding safely are of paramount importance - these events are very enjoyable and will improve your time trialling, but we should all stay safe when participating in them and we all have a responsibility to ensure that this happens.
